Are you interested in working with animals?

Custom Animal Services is looking for outstanding individuals who love animals. We pet and housesit in La Plata County, with a focus on Durango. We are always interested in mature animal lovers who can self manage.

If you are responsible and committed to providing quality care to pets or large animals and their humans we would love to talk to you. All applicants must have references and pass a background check. It is also crucial that you would be able to make a six month commitment.

All Candidates Must:

• Have professional and character references
• Pass a background check
• Have an insured and reliable vehicle
• Have a love for all kinds of critters
• Be able to make at least a 6 month commitment to Custom Animal Services
• Be able to work weekends and Holidays
• Be neat, tidy and respectful in clients home
• Have a reliable internet connection
  (scheduling and client communication happens on line)
• Have a reliable phone and voice mail

Specific Job Requirements:

Overnight Pet Sitter:

• Be able to do both short and long term house sitting
• Be available to stay in clients home at least 12 hours per night
• Leave clients homes tidy with clean linens

Stop in visits:

• Be able to do morning, mid day and evening visits

Day and Evening Companion:

• Must be available to stay for up to 12 hours in clients homes

Canine Adventure Camp:

• Be prepared to transport dogs
• Be active and able to walk or hike for up to half day

Puppy Socialization:

• Be prepared to transport dogs
• Be prepared to introduce puppies to different situations and individuals safely
• Be a representative of Custom Animal Services in public
• Must be able to adjust to puppies activity level making sure not to over exert a puppy
• Communicate effectively with puppy’s owner on progress, areas to work on, etc.

Generally there is a need from pet sitters for a range of above services.

These positions do require work on weekends, evenings, holidays.
