New Policy:  Lockboxes

After extensive research, CAS will be going exclusively to lockbox use instead of retaining keys.  CAS has purchased lockboxes in bulk at the cost of $10 each. You will notice this charge on your next invoice.  You will then own the lockbox and can use it indefinitely for any purpose.  You will be given instructions on how to use the lockbox and set your own personal code.  You will need to communicate the code and location with your pet sitter.

Advantages of lockboxes include:

• Keys remain safely stored at your premises and if you move you can take the lock box with you
• Our pet care personnel, your friends or family,  will have immediate access to your home in an emergency
• If another sitter needs to fill in for your regular sitter it is a seamless process
• One secure location for keys helps to eliminate the risk of theft or loss

Proper placement of lockboxes:

• It is a good idea to place lockbox out of sight as much as possible on a secure railing, knob, fence, in a shed or out building, etc.
• DO NOT attach to utility meters, pipes, boxes, etc.
• DO NOT attach to something that is not affixed, such as patio furniture, hoses, etc.

In a few unique circumstances such as apartment living, it might not be possible to have a secure spot for a lockbox.  We will make exceptions for these circumstances.
