How long are your visits?
A standard visit is up to one half hour. During this time, we follow your instructions exactly on how to feed, water, exercise and care for your pets and your house. Frequently, our daily dog walks run over half an hour. Our overnight stays are twelve hours, for example 7pm to 7am.
Are you experienced at medicating pets?
Yes! We have vast experience giving all types of medications, oral, topical and by injection to all types of animals. There is no charge for supplements or medications given in food.  Please ask for a quote for other types of medications.
What type of animals do you care for?
We have a wide array of experience with all types of small and large animals. We have cared for dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, pocket pets, geese, fish (ponds & tanks), turtles, birds, reptiles, and llamas’ to name a few. We love all animals and enjoy providing for their specific needs!
What if there is a natural disaster while I am out of town?
We treat animals in our care as if they were are own. That means, we have a disaster plan we can implement at any time. There are several things that you can do to help us out in this situation. Please ask for details!
Do you provide references?
Of course! We have a list of references we provide upon request.
What happens at the get acquainted visit?
We will take detailed notes on your animals and household chores. We try to be very thorough so that we can follow your pet’s normal routines as close as possible. We want to make your pet as happy when you are away as when you are home. We want to know everything about your pet, plus we love this opportunity to get to know your pet’s personality. There is no charge for the initial get acquainted visit. If follow up visits are requested they will be charged at the normal rate.
Why do you recommend I give you two sets of keys?
We prefer to have two sets of keys in case of emergency. This allows us always to have access to your pet while you are away in case something were to happen.
Are you a member of any pet related organizations?

Yes! We are a member of Pet Sitters International and the Durango Chamber of Commerce.  

What if I am late returning home?
It is not a problem. We will continue to care for your animals until we make contact with you. We request that you let us know if you will be delayed so we may plan accordingly. We appreciate hearing from you as soon as you get back to town. We want to make sure that your animals are cared for!
How do I know my home is safe and my pets are in good hands with Custom Animal Services?

All of our staff sitters are highly experienced in animal needs and animal care.  All sitters have been background screened, are free from any criminal records, and have had extensive reference checks.  We are fully insured and bonded.
